Remembrance Day Updates
We are in our busiest season of the year, with more than 800 requests already received this fall. The team continues to work on connecting you with schools and community groups to share your stories of service, and we are thankful for all of you who have already said yes to visits!
If you haven’t heard from us, it’s possible we missed you in our biannual speaker review. If you’re available for visits this year but haven’t heard from us yet, please reach out to us at memory@historicacanada.ca.
We are always looking for more speakers to join our program. Please consider inviting a friend to sign up with the Memory Project and help us meet demand for visits.
Program Updates
On top of booking Remembrance Day visits, the team is also working on our next video, about Medics in Afghanistan. We plan to release it in the new year, as 2026 will be the 25th anniversary of Canadian soldiers landing in Afghanistan. Thank you to those who sent in images for us to use! We are also putting together a new classroom learning tool about propaganda during the Second World War. We hope teachers will find it useful!
New Connections
Over the summer, we connected with a few different organizations that, like us, are committed to supporting veterans. We had a great time at the 11th Annual Peacekeepers Golf Tournament in Barrie in August, and the 15th Annual True Patriot Love Invitational for Heroes Golf Tournament in Oakville in September. We will be attending the Light for Veterans Bay of Quinte Golf Tournament on October 17. We’d love to see you there!
